I have recently learned that our old friend “www.” has deprecated. You may notice that the Where we play url no longer contains www dot. Use of the www subdomain is redundant and time consuming to communicate. The internet, media, and society are all better off without it.
Where we play is now ‘Class B’. This means that all of the traffic to http://www.whereweplay.com is politely and silently redirected to http://whereweplay.com. This is currently the preferred no-www classification as it assert the deprecated nature of the www subdomain.
The process of making your domain a Class B is simple. All you need to do is create or modify a file called .htaccess located in the root directory of your site and add the following lines, changing the word “domain” to match your domain.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.domain\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

T-Mobile claims to own the rights for the use of magenta, or I guess it is now Magenta™. They claim to have the rights registered at OAMI. COLOURlovers.com has done detailed research on this matter I think it is worth checking out.
I am going to have to rank this as one of the most amazing things the internet has enabled me to experience. NASA has released some amazing recordings of sounds from the moons of Saturn. The strangest part is that these sounds are remarkably similar to the alien movies of the 50’s and 60’s. Thanks NASA!
I think that I have located the real 40 year old virgin. This guy has a huge collection of Star Wars figurines. In comparison to this I have a rather small collection of Hot Wheels. If I can remember I will take a shot of my collection.
If you are a collector send in some pictures of your life’s work for us to post. garus@whereweplay
This is a great web based typographic experiment stemming from the belief that “Type is on Organism”.
The Energy Harvesting Dérive by Christian Croft and Kate Hartman combines new modes of pedestrian movement with alternative energy research goals. The project hacks the recently popular Heelys roller sneaker to transform it into a platform for generating electricity from human motion.
