A very cool toy showcased at the 2006 Design Tide in Tokyo by Japanese experimental type designers, Dainippon Type Organization. The blocks allow you to make English letters, as well as Japanese characters, and other illustrations.
The Toronto subway has a typographic heritage all its own, starting with a unique font. But, with renovation after renovation and after a series of new station additions, signage and wayfinding in the system are a total mess. The latest “standard” in Toronto subway signage uses fake Helvetica and is a clone of Massimo Vignelli’s work from 40 years ago.

This is a great web based typographic experiment stemming from the belief that “Type is on Organism”.
This was a little before my time, I kind of wonder why it did not catch on ! ?

I can’t quite put my finger on what I like here. I think that it has something to do with the way the work is displayed with the captions all being held by the creators. It just looks like fun.
